BAND PROFILES - Josh (Jossy) Markham - Bass (2003-2005)

Jossy started playing bass with us towards the end of 2003. In a very short time, he was playing with us at a few private gigs in December. Unfortunately, before New Year of 2004 he was diagnosed with Leukaemia for the second time.

However, by the end of June/July 2004 he had this beaten for the second time and during the second half of 2004 we played at venues in Essex and in Brighton. Josh, despite the disruption was always improving and by the end of 2004, the band, thanks to Josh's tight bass playing, were playing some decent stuff.

Unfortunately, the beginning of 2005 brought more bad news as the Leukaemia returned for the third time, and this time, there was nothing that could be done to stop it. However, despite only being given months of life left by the doctors, Josh was determined to keep playing as long as possible.

The band went into the studio with Josh playing the bass as well as contributing to the writing of track 3 on the demo 'Friends'. We managed to play 2 gigs for friends and family, which were two of the most intense and emotional gigs we have ever played. Pretty soon after this, in the early summer of 2005, Josh passed away.

However, he will always be an inspiration to us and will never be forgotten. "The noises we made never fade..."
