BAND PROFILES - Paul Hale - Lead guitar/Vocals

Paul has been playing guitar since the age of 9 and has been playing to audiences since this early age. Original guitar was an old Squir Telecaster which was the same size as he was.

Paul used to practice all the time, always practicing his scales along to a metronome to increase his speed so that in the end his little chubby fingers could whizz up and down the fret board. Around the age of 14 when his mates were able to go out to pubs Paul couldn't join in the fun as he still looked about 8 so continued to practice the guitar. At the age of 16 he reached the young guitarist of the year final in which he came runner up. However, Paul continued to play and it was watching the local 'Steve Linton Band' that helped re-ignite his interest in guitar.

By the time he reached 20, his voice had finally broken and Paul found he actually had the ability to sing and so took on the role of lead singer and guitarist. The last few years have seen his voice get stronger and stronger, helped by his secret weapon of drinking honey during every gig to keep his throat lubed.

Paul's influences include Hendrix, Satriani, Dire Straits, and Deep Purple. He is also partial to a bit of ELO, although the less said the better.
